Spec sheet comparison — practical guidance for sourcing teams
Buying foam tooling is not the same as buying injection moulding tooling. The bead expands inside the cavity, so the steel work has to breathe. The table below is how we sort the five common families before we open a quotation request. All numbers below are typical industrial ranges, not theoretical limits, and your real values will depend on part geometry, wall thickness, and density target.
