The line was added in response to growing demand from new-energy vehicle programs and Tier-1 appliance buyers who need functional aluminium prototypes without waiting for hard tooling. According to the engineering team, parts produced through the binder-jetting route reach tolerance levels that previously required machined patterns, while cutting lead time on the first article by several weeks.
"This is not about replacing our EPP, EPS, PU or EPO mould business," a project lead at Bainuo told us. "It is about giving our customers a faster front door into the same project. They can validate a part in aluminium in days, then move the same geometry into foam tooling once the design freezes."
The 3D-printed sand mould capability complements Bainuo's existing workflow that runs from 3D design through wooden patterns, precision casting, large-format CNC machining, assembly and surface spraying. Annual mould-opening volume at the plant now exceeds 800 sets.
For buyers sourcing prototype aluminium tooling in China, the addition puts Bainuo among the smaller but more responsive shops offering binder-jetting sand moulds alongside conventional foam mould manufacturing.
