Seven Things to Check Before You Sign a Foam Mould Order with Any Chinese Shop

The list walks through mould-material traceability, cavity pressure-test records, sample dimensional reports, steam-channel layout drawings, ejector-system design, after-sales service scope and machine compatibility on the buyer's floor. The underlying message is simple: anyone can build an EPP mould. The hard part is building one that still passes dimensional inspection on the 600,000th shot.

For procurement managers looking at Chinese foam mould suppliers, the checklist has become a useful filter. Several automotive Tier-1s in Germany and Korea are reportedly circulating it internally ahead of their next RFQ round.

"If you do not have a written answer to those seven points, walk away," a senior tooling buyer at a German Tier-1 supplier told us. "It is the cheapest risk reduction we have found this year."
